Monday, February 17, 2020

Tons of advertisements use celebrity voice overs. Sometimes you may not notice at all, while other times, you may hear a voice you recognize.

Keep reading for some surprising celebrity voice over commercials that will make you stop and listen next time the commercials start rolling.

1. Julia Roberts Goes Nationwide

Famed actress Julia Roberts does more than star as the lead role in your favorite romantic comedy, she also does the voice-overs for Nationwide Insurance. Her calm and reassuring voice encourages drivers that with Nationwide Insurance, they can get money back for safe driving, a plus for your safety and your bank account.

2. Zach Braff Rolls Into Voice Overs

You know those Cottonelle Toilet Paper commercials, with their recognizable "Ooh" and "Ahh" sound effects? Well, that's Zach Braff for you. The Scrubs and Garden State actor voices the puppy who just can't get enough of the softness of the companies toilet paper.

3. Tina Fey's the Commercial Queen

The Mean Girls and 30 Rock comedian does voiceovers for Walgreens, American Express and Medicare on the side. For American Express, she's even moved onto acting in their commercials as well. It's clear this actress can make you laugh, as well as sell you multiple products and services.

4. Buds with George Clooney

While George Clooney appears in many commercials, for fancy liquors and espresso companies, he also did the voiceovers for Budweiser, which may be surprising.

Clooney co-owns Casamigos, a tequila company, and we're not sure we exactly buy that Clooney sits back with one of Budweisers ice cold, all American beers

5. Antonio Banderas for Nasonex

With his thick and rich Spanish accent, it's not a surprise that advertisers would be calling actor Antonio Banderas up for voice-overs. The allergy relief company, Nasonex, hired Banderas for voice-overs, as did Marks and Spencer, a British department store.

Perhaps our favorite voice-over role of Banderas' career is Puss-in-boots, the sassy Spanish cat from the Shrek movies.

6. A Dunk for John Goodman

The coffee and doughnuts chain, Dunkin' Doughnuts, uses John Goodman's voice overs for their commercials. It's no surprise that Goodman has been their voice since 2007.

Goodman has been doing voiceovers for television shows for years and was also featured as a voice-over in the Disney animated movie, The Princess and The Frog. Dunkin' began their notable slogan, "America Runs on Dunkin'" with Goodman as their commanding yet warm voice.

7. A Relief with Susan Sarandon

This actress has been doing voice overs for Tylenol for years. The commercials usually feature Sarandon's voice encouraging viewers to get active, but when they are suffering from pain, turn to Tylenol for some relief.
